 In 2023 Red Rooster Festival and Shangri-La at Glastonbury decided they needed a crew caterer that could stand-up to the challenge, so this season we’ve served over 10,000 delicious meals fuelling their creativity and smashing every service.   Running a large catering operation in a field isn’t straightforward, but we always dig in and get the job done!  Building a rapport and providing tasty, nourishing food invariably results in a smooth, happy production, and on show days we stay efficient and organised.  We offer customised catering packages tailored to each festival and any budget, whether it’s a small local festival to a huge production feeding over a thousand, and we adapt to any setting. Our Chef Director, James Wills, has extensive experience of managing catering on set, and knows the importance of healthy, nutritious and creative menus during tough days for crew.  We’ve worked on Netflix productions, TV studios, consulted for an Asda commercial and even a Disney film- so we understand timings and locations can often differ.  Every aspect of a successful production requires careful planning and execution- and a vital role that often goes unnoticed is the catering element.  Blackboard Canteen will be there as early (or as late!) as your team require, with friendly faces and consistent, creative food, and being as flexible as needed. We work closely with production teams to design menus that include a variety of diverse dietary needs, ensuring everyone on set can enjoy delicious and satisfying meals.  This includes timely delivery of meals to designated areas – breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, helping everyone to give their best performance.  

Our teams create comfortable and inviting catering spaces, becoming a place for socialising, relaxing, and re fuelling during breaks, and we have the experience and flexibility to deal with adjusted numbers and locations whilst maintaining the same high standards of service and quality.
